Greg did a cooking class while we were in Hoi An. The day started early with a trip to the local wet market.

Motorcycling around Hoi An

We took the children on some vintage motorcycles around Hoi An - kids in one, adults in the other until I turned around and Charley had fallen asleep from the exhaust fumes! After we woke him up and swapped seats we managed to see a bit of the countryside around Hoi An.

It is also known for its beautiful ancient buildings and bridges!

China Beach Fun

The kids had a great time playing on the beach. The water was too rough for them to actually swim and it was actually a little chilly but they managed to amuse themselves for hours on end.

was absolutely beautiful although I was a little worried about tsunamis. Not a lot of options :-)

Hoi An

We then traveled south onto Hoi An which is a UNESCO World Heritage listed town on the coast of the South China Sea and stayed at the Victoria Hotel.

And what we saw!

Unfortunately the weather was against us so we spent the two days in Sapa in fog. The second morning we were there we actually walked out our front door and saw that there was a town and a lake just across the way which we had no idea was there. Have to go back in the warmer weather as I imagine it would be absolutely perfect up there. Although it is really a trekkers haven - not a good place for Libby in a linen pant :-)
